Wow, that’s a lot of letters!

I finally did it! I accomplished a life long goal of having more letters after my name than in my name. Which isn’t easy to do when you have a last name like Maheshwari! 

I’m proud to say that I have now obtained my Certification in the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) status. This means that my name with all of my designations is now:

Anil Maheshwari, MD CCFP DABFM DABOM

The geeky side of me is incredibly proud of this accomplishment while the stand-up side of me thinks I’m turning into Steve Urkel. Each designation is one part of his outfit - the big glasses, the suspenders over a plaid shirt and the white socks with dress shoes. All I’m missing is the nasally voice and I can start saying “Did I dooooo that?” all day. 

In day to day life, there are no huge benefits from all of this work. I still get paid the same and as my wife has reminded me, regardless of what letters I get after my name, she still gets to tell me what to do. :)
